Our featured speaker will be Reginald “Reg” Hyde, ALABAMA 1980.

Brother Hyde is currently engaged in technology and investment financing through Oak Mountain Ventures and Consulting, and he actively participates on Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards. With a remarkable 30-year career at the CIA, he held various roles, including overseas assignments as a CIA operations officer and Station Chief. Notably, he served as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Central Intelligence and his Deputy and played a key role in establishing a significant technology center. Additionally, Mr. Hyde was instrumental in the creation of In-Q-Tel, the Intelligence Community’s Strategic Venture element, in 2000. During his tenure at In-Q-Tel, he focused on areas such as Venture Capital, Cybersecurity, Big Data, Predictive Analytics, and M&A related to these technologies.

Mr. Hyde concluded his government career as the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security at the Pentagon, where he held responsibility for overseeing intelligence policy and operations for the military. Recognized for his accomplishments, he attained the civilian-equivalent rank of a military three-star officer in 2005. Following his retirement from government service in 2013, he founded and served as the Executive Director of the University of Alabama Cyber Institute for over five years before returning to Washington, DC, to fully engage in private business endeavors. He holds degrees in both BS and JD from the University of Alabama, as well as a Master’s Degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
