Our featured speaker is Bert Ely, CASE WESTERN 1964.

Brother Ely is a financial institutions and monetary policy consultant based in Alexandria, Virginia. He has consulted on deposit insurance and banking issues since 1981. Bert continuously monitors conditions in the banking industry as well as economic and monetary policy issues.

In recent years, Bert has focused attention on the resolution of problems in the U.S. financial system, the economic recovery from the Great Recession, and the implementation of Dodd-Frank. He also consults to the ABA on Farm Credit System issues, including writing monthly Bert Ely’s Farm Credit Watch.

Bert first established his consulting practice in 1972. He received his MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1968 and his Bachelor’s degree in economics in 1964 from Case Western Reserve University.
