Benjamin Piatt Runkle Memorial Monument Centennial

The celebration of Founder Runkle’s Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery will take place on Saturday, September 30 at 10:30 a.m. ET.
On September 29th, 1923, the Piatt Runkle Memorial Monument was dedicated by a party led by Virginia Governor Lee Trinkle and the Founding Chairman of the Monuments and Memorials Commission, Hon. Bolon. B Turner, GEORGE WASHINGTON 1922. Brother Turner was initiated at the Epsilon chapter, and, after “coming up the chairs,” became the 43rd Grand Consul (1965- 67). He was a Charter Member of the Order of Constantine and long-time member of the Washington Alumni Chapter attending luncheons until shortly before he entered the Chapter Eternal in 1987.
This is a public event so spouses and guests are welcome.
A post-event get together will take place after the program beginning at 12:30 at the Nighthawk Brewery & Pizza, 1201 South Joyce St C10, Arlington, VA 22202.

- Arrive at Arlington National Cemetery, Section 1, Grave 240 by 10:15 a.m. Brothers and guests will need to process through security at the ANC Welcome Center, unless they hold a valid DoD ID Card. The center is within walking distance of the METRO Blue Line Arlington Cemetery Station. Be sure to allow enough time to arrive at the grave site as it’s a 10-15 minute walk.
